If so, just make sure the 100m foam stuff isn't on there.
      Oops...
      Should read:
If so, just make sure the 10mm foam stuff isn't on there.
It will allow too much movement for the Futaba sensor, and result in wagging.

      Cheers,

        Hi Jimbob,

I got the helical gear set from a company in Taiwan, lots of spares very cheap with good postage. PM me if you want the details,

        Cheers

Test flew the V-max again this weekend - sorry no pictures.

All was going fine until the exhause manifold parted company from the exhaust, and a botched emergency landing from me stripped the tail gearbox.

The model feels very powerful and locked in now with the new servos and VMax upgrades.
I'm going to stiffen the head next, and probably upgrade to 6v to make the best of the S9351s on the cyclic (thanks to those who suggested these).

Infinivation dampers, or just the hard TT ones? How much difference will changing the paddles make?

I've attached a pic of the tail gear - if it wasn't for the grease I reckon I cold glue it all back together???

I believe the Infinivation dampers are better than the hard TT dampers in both performance and longevity terms.

Changing the paddles - lighter paddles will make it friskier on the cyclics - heavier paddles make it more sedate.

            Cheers,

Get the Infinivation dampers and lighter paddles, the you will be pitch pumping like a bunny in spring

And then I might start to get worried!!!!!

Dang - rebuilt the tail drive, only to discover the gear stripped in the S9251!!!

HOW CAN ANYONE JUSTIFY £25 FOR A SET OF SERVO GEARS!!!!!!!!!

The worst thing is, its only a nylon gear thats gone - A**E!!!!
Anyone know if the gear that sits next to the metal one in an S9251 is the same as any other gear for any other servo that anyone else might make?

On a happier note, the Raptor50 revlock hunting problem was indeed a dodgy sensor, despite the old one passing the sensor test! Beware.

Ordered infinivation dampers plus an align Regulator + a bigger battery for the R90 too - I'm skint

I had problems setting up a Revlock the other day, there was 2 magnets on the fan and the sensor was to far away (the closer the gap the better).

Weird thing is it worked OK after I closed up the gap, even though there was 2 magnets the same way round in it???????

The 9251 shares its first three gears with the 9253, Just had a look on Rons heliproz south, under servos is a gear comparison chart
                      Cheers Daren

And the S9253 Gear Set is only £5.99 instead of £25!!! Result - thanks Daren.

Right - infinivation dampers are in, Align Reg and 3400mAh battery installed, rudder servo gears replaced, etc etc etc.
I've been playing on the sim and did some inverted on the 50, so wish me luck for tomorrow with the Uber Vmax!

Did you fly your V-Max today? We had a bit of rain but it cleared up around dinner so got a few flights in with mine!
She was coughing around the hover mark and I couldn't tune it out with the mixture, fine flat out, just at hover....kicks the tail a lot...worse at higher speeds...any ideas?

Hmmm - no idea at all from your description Rod - sorry.

I did get a flight in, and 2 with the 50.
The mods I've done all seem to have worked, but the weather was so awful with gusting winds and rain that it was impossible to tell how well. Hope to get some better flights soon then we'll know better.

Perhaps your midrange is too rich? When you say higher speeds, but in the hover, what do you mean? Headspeed?
                              Hope you get it sorted....
