raptor 50 or 60?

  • raptor 50 or 60?

    im looking to upgrade from my 30 to something a bit bigger is there a big difference between the 50 and 60?
    the 60 isnt as popular what are peeps thoughts on the 60?
    worth the extra cost?

      Go for the 50, it is the same as the 30 so parts are interchangeable, the 60/90 is a totally different design.

      There is basically two types of Raptors the 30/50 and the 60/90
      Raptor 50 V3 Titan

        50 would be best, especially when your looking to sell and move onto possibly a 90 at some point. The .60 market, I would say has almost died off with a few exceptions.

          I got a 60 must be the only one its a bit of an animal and the 90 is a bigger animal and i can vouch for the repair costs xpensive

            If you look at it as the R50 is a 30 size heli with a 50 size motor in it but the R60 is a 90 size heli with a 60 in it, which would you prefer? The R50 is cheaper to run and repair and has a better power to weight ratio than the R60.

            If I was buying an R50 again it would be a Trex 600 Sport

              a 50 is a 30 with a different gear ratio and longer boom/blades/belt

              a 60 is a different machine which these days is considered to be a 90 with the power to weight of a 30. sure its more stable but the costs far outweigh the benefits.

              your best bet is probably to wait until you next crash then upgrade the 30 to a 50, you will break half the parts that are unigue to a 30 so will reduce to the upgrade costs.

              or you could get a knight sport but of course im sponsored so i would say that <sigh>

                can ya take it up to titan boom? to take 620 blades or am i best just to go for making it a 50? il forget the 60 my 30v2 isnt old anyway and go for changing myn

                  You can put a Titan boom on but you will need the Titan tail belt as well.

                  To be honest I have a Titan and I use 600 blades, I don't really see the point in 620 .
                  The easist thing for you yto do is get the 30 to 50 conversion kit, a OS 50 hyper motor and some 600 size carbon blades and then you will have a 50.

                    Hi Nutz what difference in your opinion does the titan boom & belt make to the Raptor 50 apart from the obvious one of it not going in the car so easily
                    were talking using 600mm blades & not 620's.

                          Wait till you stuff the 50,then buy a 30 to 50 conversion kit which is a bloody rip off and the engine of choice

                            50 it is then,doesnt seem mutch point in the kit as i dont want the blades il price it seperate or flebay sum bits

                              the only bit worth having from the titan is the main gear an pinion. the pushpull bits are a waste of money and unless you want to run 620 (no idea why you would) then the long boom is pointless
