  • R30 taking shape...

Well, had the day off yesterday and today so thought I'd make use of it. Yesterday I took the whole day setting up mechanics. Stripped it back to servos and rebuilt with all the correct link lengths, etc. It was WAY out! It's all about spot on now, everything level, pitch is where it should be, and tail should be close to bang on. (Although can't be sure till I run her up tomorrow).

Today was the mammoth feat of electrics. God I hate wiring, lol. And there is sooo much on these Raptors. Still, I think I did a fairly tidy job. Everything secure and I still have access to all the plugs if I need to remove a component. Quite chuffed, so I thought I'd share

Looks good but I think your undercarriage legs are back-to-front.

They should be angles forwards rather than backwards. Doesn't really make any difference, and some people just prefer the look of them backwards, but none-the-less, forwards is proper. Lol.

I used a 3700mah nimh in my rappy and it balanced the Heli perfectly however a decent size lipo & reg will do the same thing

Looks good, my only concern would be those bare servo wires in the plastic clips in the frame. Needs to be some protection where ever the wires are tie wrapped or touching the frame.
                      Cheers,

Both those Raptors are looking very nice. This thread has inspired me to investigate my engine problem in mine. Thanks

Thanks guys! I wanted to go lipo, but funds are severe at the moment. I got the lipo's already, just can't stretch to a regulator. Having said that, this batt that I bought seems to last an age while setting up. So I might stick with it and see how it goes.

Appreciate the tips though, all help greatly received!

a question to the owners of the rappy's pictured
why is it on a raptor the tail servo wire is fed along the exhaust side of the heli?
in a crash it can and has melted the tail servo/gyro wires
the other side still has the wire clips that very few use
