Raptor 90 Electric Conversion

Guys,

I'm gonna do an electric conversion on a new-to-me Raptor 90. Does anyone know what Mod the main gear is so I can buy the right pinion? I'm guessing MOD 1.0 but would appreciate your input.

the gears are mod one
it may be an idea to try and find some info on the g4 electric
as then you can work out the best gear ratio's/motor kv to use

isn't it easier to use the clutch than remount the motor using a pinion drive?

trouble is using the clutch ron is that the motor will start spooling up with no load at all, then kick and its got the load of the gears, blades tail ect, it cant be good for it

Seen a set of frames somewhere for this conversion, and they were about $179 if I remember correctly, do a search around I am sure you will find them............

the scale boys use the clutch to give the heli a scale sound of a turbine winding up
it is also kinder on the gear train than direct drive
but with the raptor 90 direct drive is the better option as you can bolt the motor mount to the upper section of the ali frame
rather than the lower part
on the upper part you will get a better gear mesh as there will be less flex in the motor mounting system
