  • TT Agusta A109 scale kit on Rap 90

    Well,, tis finished,
Just finished putting the decals and bling on my TT Agusta scale kit.
I built and flew the 90 the other week to make sure the innards a were ok and tuned the engine,
Used an os70 engine as I don't need the power of a 90 for scale flying,
I've only flown 50s and my F1 carbon 61 till now and I was amazed at how the 90 handled with a 70 engine,
Started to wonder if I should get a 90 engine and not bother putting the scale kit on but as I'd set my mind on flying 90 size scale I went ahead with the build,

The scale kit was up to the usual high quality and standard you would expect from TT with a reasonable manual to guide me through the installation.
I already have a TT MD-530 kit on a 50 so after fitting that didn't expect any problems with the Agusta kit,
I assemble the retracts as per manual, length of links etc, tested it and it worked perfectly, much to my surprise as they were the first set of retracts I've done, (must say something for the manual)
the rest of the build was pretty strait forward and I enjoyed doing it,
The only slight problem I had was matching the front nose section onto the body and had to adjust the cross supports making them a bit wider to stop canopy being distorted,
The manual does say cut the canopy and adjust to fit but I don't like the idea of having to cut something that should fit, so a few hours and lot of swearing later I came to a compromise and I'm about 95% happy with it,
I test flew it last weekend which went well although as its silver and Grey and without the red decals I found it hard to keep orientation against the Grey sky,
Now its complete I'm looking forward to flying it this weekend and film the flight

            Ok
lots of un edited photo's of finished heli in gallery, note the extra vents and red LED light, should put a red line on the white part of the blades,

I was thinking of doing one with my 90se, how much has it cost all together not counting the raptor it self. was the kit all you had to buy or was there some extra bits you added?

Tripler: how have you found the kit in the end ?

Also would this fit a Raptor 60 or is it not really possible ?

                    Tripler,

question how do you think 71cm blades would be an issue ?

Looking for a scale body for my Predator SE and it measure's up close the the Raptor
                    in size etc.

Main issues I can see are main blades on the Predator are 71cm giving it a 1400mm blade diameter. Then cutting a hole in the bottom for the Pull start....

Other that it might actually fit okay!

                      body for pred.

the blades would be fine as I fly with 710m blades on the raptor 90se so if you are turning the same blades you should be able to carry the weight and a hole in the bottom will be ok

Gasser will pick up the scale body no problem, the extra weight isn't an issue.
It can handle far more weight than say a 90 will.

I was just concerned about would the blades get close to touching the scale tail thats the main concern... the hole in the bottom was the 2nd one!

Been comparing the size of the predator vs Raptor 90 and theres basically nothing in it there roughly the same size.

So I'll kit out the predator and then fly it for a while and then look at buying the scale body.

Just had a measure up and I think it will work, plenty of room for 71s
