Have you considered it is the cold affecting the battery on Align starter?

Hi, thank you for the suggestions.Originally posted by Sticky Stick View PostHi Dennis,
I would not worry about the slight squeek too much. I have found that the oneways last a while aslong as you don't hydrolock it. You can change the bearing when you get the parts together. If you need pointing in the right direction just let me know.
The O.S does tend to be a bit tight when new and also on a cold day, first start. This will ease as it runs in. I think the Align starter with a new engine with a bit of fuel in it,on a cold day, can be marginal. With my old starter set up i had to loosen the plug on a new engine to drop the compression to let the starter turn it over to start.
As far as starters i know some using the Align with good effect. That said i have a Dynatron running from a second hand 6s 5000 mah lipo with a original Robbe one way. It starts anything even on the coldest of days and is borrowed by others:-)
Yes it's true, for sure my new engine and very cold weather di not help then Align starter. Engine was not hydro-locked.
I think I will take out my dynatron out...
