  • Unexpected kick!

After not flying my raptor 50 for a while and on going issues with it I finally think I got to the bottom of my engine problems which turned out to be bad fuel, a bad carb and plastic debris in the header tank. So I was flying it around gently doing some smooth backwards 8s and bang the tail went nuts and gave a real nasty kick!
I landed it and and had a closer inspection. The tail belt seemed a bit on the tight side and I think it might of made the 1way stick?? Whilst I took the 1way out to check it I also noticed my clutch rubbing on the bell but also unevenly... I stripped the engine out and it seems the clutch is worn down on the corners but one side slightly differed to the other...
Hopefully those problems are what made the tail kick but any thoughts welcome

interesting... I actually have a quick UK fan but I've ordered a quick uk clutch and alignment bearing just to be on the safe side. When the clutch is off I'll have a check and make sure it's seated flat and that the fan is mounted dead centre. What sort of tolerance is normal/acceptable for the fan/clutch assembly?

I've seen the top bearing that supports the clutch shaft not centrally located in the plastic frame, due to the frame becoming deformed.......

the normal run i aim for is no more than two thou i normally check on surface plate and dial gauge the motor on the mount some of the times just rotating 180 will ease run out problem on the clutch shoe try it and see nothing to loose but the one i had at 8 thou out could do nothing with could not hold in lathe to machine
