  • Raptor 50 Titan SE ok with 600 blades ?

    Hi,

I had planned to upgrade my Raptor 30 to a 50 and have been getting the bits together (motor, boom, belt, gears, blades etc etc) however the chance to get a complete frame for a Raptor 50 Titan SE 2nd hand means I am going to be able to keep my R30 in one piece without canibalising it.

I think the Titan SE is made to take 620mm blades however I only have 600mm CF blades which I would like to get some use out of, am I going to be ok using the 600's for a while ?

Any advice on what difference I will find between 600's and 620's when I eventually get bigger blades?

    Thanks

I use 600mm blades on my Titan, you can use up to 623mm blades i think but it certainly isnt important, just give a little more stability.

Yes, you'll be fine. 620s are optional and you'll need to change gyro gain and other tuning factors if you swap blade sizes. Suggest you fit 95mm tail blades, I had 85mm ones on my R50v2 and when I upgraded it to Titan spec and put the longer blades on I didn't have enough tail authority.

I presume you have the TITAN tail boom and belt, not just the 50-size?

        Thanks for the reassuring info.

It does have the longer 620 tail boom and belt so I think I am good to go with longer blades when funds allow but use the 600's to start with.
Thanks for the advice on getting larger tail blades as the ones I have are only 85mm long.

I have already this conversion on one of my Rappys. It flys beautifully, much more stable then it did as a 30. Use 620 main and 95 tail. Fitted a YS 50 and mp5 50 pipe.
You should find no problems with this, set up and have fun

if this is your first 50 size you will love it the difference between 600 and 620 you prolly not notice unless you fly really hard and like auto's 600s are absolutely fine for any flying ,,, you will find a huge difference between the 30 and the 50 you have a lot more power to fly and a standard rappy 50 with 600s in the right hands can perform very well , youl love it with 600s on it and wont need to change any time soon until your looking for that wee bit extra
