  • 90se, life in the old dog yet

Well i have to say i am liking my old Raptor, bought it as a back-up heli to my 700le and though i still prefer my 700, just faster and lighter in the air the raptor makes up with it with precision and it's air presence.
Put it through some set manovers practise today for the champs and am impressed how easy it delt with elevator slappers and felt so locked in doing a snake.
The tail on the rappy is lovely, better than the 700's.
It is a bit heavy and you notice the extra weight in aileron and elevator tick tocks but tracks really well through hurricanes.
My advise, if looking for a cheep 90, give a rappy 90 serious consideration if you can find a secondhand one, just check those dampers are at least 3d ones, otherwise this can happen

My Raptor 60 is now a 90, and has a few upgrades, and I use it for my training, with Darren at Rapid Rotors, had a few hours today, and the Raptor flew great, its very forgiving, flies in a straight level line, hands off, and is so stable, its a very nice model to learn on, done my first loops on it today, I am really pleased I own one.

running 2000rpm head speed, pitches maxed out, and the cyclics are still a bit slow, going to change the elevator arms for the 3d ones that are suppose to speed things up

I have a Raptor 60 converted to a 90 as well. I have the servos, gyro and RX in just need to tidy up the wires and connect ball links to the servo horns and set it up.

I am intending to use it for F3C type flying. It's such a beefy looking chunky old thing but with a real artistic flair to the frame design. I think it's a classic and classics never go out of style

the raptor 90 is a solid helicopter,it just keeps taking the abuse without issues.
and pilots are still doing really well the the raptor 90.

                    glad your enjoying it james
