  • R90 boom strike

Was avery lucky boy today, had a boom strike on my Raptor 90 SE but got away with just the following, and it carried on flying, only noticed the damage when i landed.

So the Q is, what dampers are people running and do you run the 3d plastic blade grips or shall i swap too the metal se ones that i have, the plastics seem quite good in flight to be fair.
Also the cyclics on the aileron are a bit slow running 700 paddles, what are other people running to get some speed

very lucky. A chap came to our club once about 2 years ago and demonstrated chaos on his raptor 90, doing the same thing. he then carried on and did it even faster, resulting in a total loss of the model....

Not a purchase Tim, a swap, my 600 for the rappy, going to run just 90 sizes, bar will keep my 450 for winter time
As for dampers Craig i haven't a clue what they are, but will see if i can track down some of them, cheers.
Not sure when it happened in the flight, didn't hear it as such, was doing a hamfisted chaos and some hard pitch stops from fast forward flight and might of happened on either.
And as for the blades, not even a mark on them at all, torsion 690's, rock hard

                    Hi James,

I boom struck my Raptor 90 running Infinavation dampers and like you I got away with it. The only difference from mine to Stefan's is I was running 710 SB's

I think I have a spare set of those dampers if you want to try them.
                    Cheers Matt
