  • Death of a Raptor

You know when you get that 'just one more tank' feeling, resist my friends:-

The picture doesn't show the true destruction this heli has suffered, so looks like a new kit.

So i think i'm going to save my pennies and in a couple of months hopefully take the opportunity for some thing little more exotic, or if reason enters my head a trex 600 or another titan se kit.

    ho hum.

Shame that, done the same to my 600 a couple of weeks ago, I rebuilt it, really should have dumped it.

Shame about the crash Darren but that looks superficial ... then pictures always make it look better than the real life crash damage.... I wrote off my first Raptor decapitating the boom at 100ft up - must have took us a good 30mins to find all the bits!

Good things usualy come out of crashes.. I moved on from the Titan I had destroyed to a Knight 3D....

Which ever way you go, its all upwards from here

So i guess you reckon that one wont 'T-cut' out then?...... shame mate, real shame. Put my RJX Xtreme 50 in to a corn field the other week, it looked like a meteor strike and the heli wrapped itself up in a ball, still i breathed life in to it once more..... dont give up though. just remember, by definition of the beast; planes fly themeselves, you only learn to aim them, helicpters only crash, you learn to increase the time between crashes.

bd luck buddy, my dad had a mid air with someone few years ago and lost all his radio that was worth £450, a battery worth £250 and a raptor that was heavily upgraded becuse it caught fire, it can be a bit annoying when thy break but as they say, dont fly them in you dont want to break them, its going to happen from time to time, dont let it knock you!

Bummer. So what's damaged - give us a list, or is it too long?

Haven't stripped the heli yet, but a cursory look:-

                        - Both sides of the frame broken
                        - Canopy split both sides
                        - both landing gears
                        - big dent in muffler - may still work
                        - virtually all plastic parts on the head broke
                        - main gear and auto gear destroyed
                        - boom and belt
                        - blades, flybar
                        - most bearings, main shaft, feathering and starter shaft

Hoping the electrics are okay, else I will cry

Wow, it must have gone in really really hard, or just somehow at the wrong angle.

I had a pretty hard crash with my Raptor 30 last year but it came down on the skids and although the skids and lower frame were broken the rest came out remarkably well (main and feathering shafts, some plastic rotorhead bits, windscreen, servo frame, start shaft and fan)

Blimey! That's quite a list eh? Here's hoping your electrics survived. be worth checking all the servo gears tho, even if they seem OK.
