Well that was a waste of time - think the one way clutch on the starter shaft is knackered as she turned over for about 10 seconds then the starter just span...

      Arse!

New clutch on order - watch this space!

Still, the snow was nice and I managed to fly the 50 with no crashes

I nipped out for a couple but the sun came out at just the wrong time and I couldn't cope with the glare.

            Success!!!!!
Me and my mate Stephen stripped the clutch down, and we found out that the donkey who put it together hadnt tightened the hex adaptor grub screws onto the flats of the starter shaft - hence the spinning!
So, put it all back together - had a fight aligning the motor, but eventually she was ready!
AND SHE FLIES! OK well she hovers in the back garden but all systems check out.
Couple of vibrational issues to resolve but thats nothing new is it!

Here's a few pics of her....

So here's the full spec of my new toy

R90 (obviously) without so much as a mark on her!
                  CY radix blades all round
                  YS91ST Pumped Engine with pipe
                  GV-1
                  GY601 & 9251
                  2 x 9450s on cyclic
                  9151 on collective
                  QUK auto hub
                  QUK carbon frame set
All the manuals, and a bag of original bits

I've had to add a receiver, and change the GV-1 sensor, battery and throttle servo and I've re-done all the electrics and checked everything thoroughly.

                  Without the new parts, I paid £600 - I think i got a bargain! Did I?

Right well ive just flown her for 2 tanks, mostly hovering about setting pitch curves etc, but a few lazy circuits and some climb-outs too...
Basically very easy and smooth to fly, and a lot easier to see. Easy to go through half a gallon though!

Couple of observations I hope people can comment on though!

The engine (probably not quite tuned yet) keeps giving a change in note like its going 4 stroke. This is accompianied by a judder on the tail. Is this just bad tuning do ya think? I set the needles carefully to the prescribed starting positions... Its a YS91ST with a pipe of some kind on it, not one i recognise.

Secondly I was getting a slow drift to the right in both modes. Its a GY601 with the correct servo. Could it be the cold? Its freezing up at the field - ice everywhere.

Looks like a bargain to me mate!
I don't know anything about YS engines, but your comments suggest to me that it is a tuning issue.
Is the engine new, or run in already?
                      Cheers,

Its hard to tell - the whole things REALLY clean, and when i stripped it found no wear. Knowing whose it was, its hard to tell the history though.

The engine must have had some running as its not extremely tight, and there is signs of running on the liner.

Its a 3 needle carb which is a first for me, as is the pump system. My feeling is its too rich still... or it could be this pipe.

Do you have a pic of the pipe?
