  • Raptor 50 & OS Hyper

I've got 2 Raptor 50's which I have recently fitted Hypers to (previously had OS 50SX's), in both the blue head is almost touching the frames at the front.

    Is this normal?

They are touching at some points and have been wearing off the blue anodising.

What clearance do other people have, are your Hyper heads getting damaged in the Raptor 50. If not am I doing something wrong, is it possible to gain more clearance by careful engine installation in the mount?

My first hyper was in my Raptor 50 and yes, it wore off some blue anodising across the bottom left corner of the head.

A mates didn't touch - I think they are all very very close and slight differences in mountings etc will determine if yours touches or not.

      Hi

This is normal, don't worry about it.
      It will wear in.

      Cheers

Thanks for the prompt answers guys

Is there not a danger of it melting the frames a bit if things get too hot?

Another quick question with both engines I seem to get some unburnt fuel/oil all around the canopy clip, presumably this is caused by a slight leak around the head. Is this normal? and yes I have checked the head bolts are sufficiently tight

BobJ, thanks also for getting a replacement MP2 pipe sorted out for me via Dave at Revolution recently, much appreciated. Good service from the CY Products importer (ClimbOut)

          ------------------------
It would have to get very very hot to do this, have heard of some one doing this but never seen it myself.

all engines spit some fuel out of the carb when at low rpm's so you will always have oil on the model, theres no getting away from it unfortuantely.
