  • 3152's on a Raptor60?

    Hi chaps!

Will be taking delivery (Or collecting) RaptormadSteves Rappy60 sometime soon ( Cheers Steve! )

Will 3152's be okay for elevator/roll/cyclic or will I be pushing my luck?

Also, I seem to be reading of peeps having a different model of servo on the throttle?? Can someone please explain why? I guess its to do with response?
    Cheers,

    Gazza

    Hi Gazza,

Really depends on what you intend to do with it. If your into smooth flying loops roll and not stick banging 3D then 3152's will be ok. However they are a standard servo be it digital. If you could afford to up rate then go for it, or maybe just uprate the collective servo and keep with 3152's on the cyclics.
    Cheers Matt

Really still a novice mate so nothing more than figure eights etc.

      What about the throttle?
      Cheers,

Some throttle governing devices recommend a fast servo for the throttle, but not all.

If you're not using a Revlock, or a GV1 or a Revmax or whatever, then a reasonable quality standard servo will suffice - say a Futaba 3001. I use such servos on all my throttles except for my 90 heli where I have a 9001. The 9001 is about £25 and is an analogue coreless servo. It's a good quality fast analogue servo which I have installed as a "peace of mind" thing rather than anything else. The 90 heli is a lot of bucks up there in the air, and I wouldn't want it's future longevity to rely on a £7 Futaba 148 servo.

The throttle servo is very often over-looked when people upgrade their heli servos, but let's face it, it's accuracy and reliability are rather important in a helicopter, much more so than in a plane.

I use 3050s (a couple of quid dearer than 3152s) for the cyclic and pitch of my 30 and 50 helis.

            i tryed them 3152s on my raptor 60....didnt like it....was well sloppy..(but u can 6v em,,witch would make them a bit better.

            ended up putting 2x S9252 on swash/cyclic...and S9255 pitch..

revloc works fine with S3001 ....((never had any problems))

when doing loops ,,,and curcits,,,the 3152s lacked ,,,((would be ok for a smaller heli....say a 30/50 size..((but r not that strong

but then its down to the flyer realy..((see jr 951s on a raptor 60,,,and it fluw ok,,,,,,

better to go for strong servos.i use the same setup on my 90 ..it works 4 me

I have 3152s on my Sceadu Evo 50 and no problems there.
They are on the cyclics - I have a Hitec 5925 on the pitch for that extra bit of speed and power

              Cheers,

Okay guys & thanks for all your comments.

I'll go with 3152's & take it from there. Obviously if and when my flying progresses I'll upgrade when I feel the need

Although I'd rather spend more money on a new TX first as I'm still using an Optic 6 (Borrowed from Mickey mouse )
                Cheers,
