Glad you are getting on well with your rappy, I am also learning on a raptor 30

Check the 2 red belt guides in the main frame, as when my tail started kicking it turned out that the belt was too loose and it was wearing the guides away (which ended up in my tail stopping working while hovering)

Brin, I'm a member of the Addlestone MFC, and we fly from Kempton Park Racecourse.

Regarding the tail kicking, it could also be the tail belt is too tight! If you use quick collective / throttle, the sudden power output I'm told can cause this too. Does it happen in idle up where the revs would be constant? It also could be the gyro rate is too sensitive?

Well, today I had another go at flying a 450 and promptly dumped into the grass. I don't think it's much damage but I just have to think at this point I just don't get on with small electric helis. The setup and C of G is so touchy, I'm not used to the etiquettte of LiPo stuff. It felt mushy, unresponsive and underpowered and maybe that's all down to my lack of expertise in setting up the radio and everything but nonetheless I am shelving the 450's for now and anxious to fly the Raptor again soon. For me it's just a whole different flying experience that I have never felt with a smaller heli, even the Gaui 550. I have a fondness for the Raptor and I feel I'll always have one.

sorry to hear about your woes with the 450 mate but set up well they fly very well but the raptor holds much better in the wind and for me with my dodgey eye i can see it better lol.

                      Well done mate

Had a few moment with my new beam yesterday!
First pitch curve normal/idle 1. Little embarrassing, flew OK till went into idle tried to land. Lucky lees fast to re cover from that.
2 Power curves wrong. Then told all about power setup on electric. OK still alot for me to learn
Then i had ago when all setup doing OK. Quite hard to see at times and one point the angle i was at hmmm was sliding side ways toward us doh.
Lee can move fast too he he But i recovers that no more events after that.
He's comment spartan was OK tail held well! LOL
Than on to trex 600. Had to change fuel line in tank. I'd changed servo on throttle, that was reversed smoking clutch! Then setup servo linkage and Rev lock. OK chickened out and ask lee to fly it first after crash repair..
Well tail was very very fast! landed changed end points. Now fly's best its ever been.
Had a great day. Yes had 3 flight after being out all afternoon but came back with sorted heli's!! Thanks lee

sometimes its not about how many flights you get in but the experience you get from watching others and the club atmosphere meeting the guys and getting help from them all makes for a great day.
