I had a chat today with TT and I asked the question what was going on with the G4 and it appears the G4.1 N will remain in production only the E700 V2 is still well in production with no plans to cease and more three bladed heli's are on there way.

Spares for the G4 are safe and not likely to cease production for a while.

The E720 is being ceased so I suspect this is where the confusion is arose which is no surprise given the success of the E700.
    Cheers

I wouldnt say given up exactly but dont makes sense holding on to an e720 if there phasing it out because of good e700 sales (i knew that was eventually gonna happen!). Pointless selling it as with anything these days you get nowt for them. Pointless making it a hack model as god knows how long parts will last. Eventually they'll fade the g4 nitro out of exsistence also... no wonder people are going back to Align!
Looks like it could be time to maybe transfer the gear to a Trex 700 speed/dominator.
Probably makes no sense turning it into a nitro tbh as sounds like the g4 days are numbered. Shame because its an awsome quality model.

I called yesterday to order an e700v2, and was told by amerang they had all the e700 spares in stock, the only parts they didn't have were the new v2 parts.

i dont know how true this is, could of possibly just been lip service to make me order the kit, i guess we will find out soon enough!

Im confused…?!? People seem to be talking about the G4 and E720 as if they are different helicopters?!? They share all parts other than the obvious fitting of electric motor or engine….?!? Of course battery trays are needed… Or have i misunderstood?

If spares continue for the G4.1…. then we E720 variation users have all the spares we need… providing you upgrade the head for the g4.1. You just won't be able to buy a E720 "kit" (which the only difference is the battery tray?! Or are there frame upgrades needed too that i have missed?? Even so, i would have still thought they were compatible?!

Why would you need to phase it out as an electric model? Other than battery trays…. we will have all the spares we need for years to come. Thunder Tiger are still "supporting" helicopters they brought out nearly 20 years ago.

Sad really though if there is something i have missed that means the E720 is useless longer term. Because the E700 just aint as good….(IMO) Hardly a replacement…. Although, I'm sure profit and sales wise it wins hands down in TT eyes

                          .
This is probably what i will do also if the G4 days are numbered. It is getting to the point where is doesn't matter what TT release helicopter wise… they just don't support them well enough.

Do Align still win hands down in terms of spares availability? Double edged sword to a point though as they do like to revise the range rather frequently. Not a problem if the fundamentals of the platforms remain compatible though. I believe Gaui are fairly good spares wise… but i sold my X7 due to the (imo) lack of presence and saddle packs (deal breaker for me practicality wise)

I just want to fly and feel comfortable flying. I like to be up and running quick after an incident. So i will go with whatever has the best support. Which i have always assumed is Align

                              lol… i do indeed Lee

Don't get me wrong… i don't dislike it. But i much prefer flying and the feel of the E720. Its greater size, weight and taller profile make it more my kinda model…

You must still like the E720 a fair bit too if you have it in your fleet… otherwise… why not just fly the E700 exclusively? Or is it more than you don't see the point in trying to sell it with the rock bottom prices they seem to go for? I think they are quite different models really, which is why i have both. I enjoy flying both…
