  • Aluminium Head advice needed..

If I wanted to replace the whole head assembly on my Rappy 30 v2, from swash upwards with bling new ali parts, preferably in silver rather than anodised, where would be the best and most cost effective place to go ?

Someone sold one on the forum not so long ago and it looked like a work of art to me... God... How sad am I sounding !!!

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Raptor-30-50-U...742.m153.l1262

I saw this on the great bay... any comments?? The store seems to do loads of upgrade parts quite cheaply.

all the metal heads have bearings in the headblock to support the pin that takes the feathering shaft. so that one might not fly as well as the better known brands.

Im not sure its worth blinging out raptors these days.. Even after upgrades they dont fly as well as the new generation 50s like the knight, poolign and vibe.

Quick UK make a range of very nice aluminium parts - including a complete Raptor head assembly.

There is also the Kasama head which looks stunning - Zip RC sell these in the UK, but I cannot get to their wbsite currently?

      Cheers,

theres a thread on the dark side of the pond about putting the trex600 head on the rappy.
nutz tried that once. wonder what nutz is up to recently - he vanished from the forums.

Rather than the original raptor kasama the raptor simrock looks like a work of art.

The site is working ok for me? The kasama head is meant to make the raptors fly brilliantly, Nutz on here has done on his and he loves it to bits

Whilst the Kasama head is very nice it's still doesn't match the 600N, Vibe, and goodknight to you too compass thingy

The Kasama gives a wider Pitch range than the Quick Uk head but does actually have a fair amount of binding if using the agressive settings.

Things have moved on and whilst Raptors are good, they just cant match newer models for reliability/performance as above

A guy in our club put a 600 head on a Rappy. It worked ok, the only thing he had to modify was the swashplate i think.

                Thanks Ade,

I have been busy with a lot of things on the go, I am still around just takes a PM or a MSN to get me here,

The Trex head will go on the Raptor but only the top part (above the wash block/arms) as the Raptors swash is a smaller mCCPM and the Trex has a large eCCPM. The full pitch with the Trex head is +/-9.5°.

The Kasama is a lot better option and not that expensive, I think I paid £130 for the complete thing when I bought it over a year ago (came with a free alu fan ). You can get around +/-14°-15°
