    c shaped ovals

How can these strange C links replace the hoops links? surely they would swing out and bind?

I think the rocket links are screwed in very tight top and bottom (i.e. so they don't move) and therefore the half-hoops would stay in the right place.

I agree though - it does look odd!

I've got some alloy upgrade loops for a Raptor, but I have been put off fitting them by a comment a LHS made about having the load taken on 4 screw threads (where the links screw to the alloy loops) rather than a complete uninterupted loop like the stock plastic ones.

Doens't look any different to the push/pull loads on normal links, but forewarned could be forearmed.

Anyone had a bad experiences with these?

I just keep a stock of the original plastic hoops in my flightbox, I found that the alloy ones bent pretty badly in a crash plus I had a poor thread cut in one of them from the start. The plastic hoops are cheap and easy to replace, I'd have thought that the half hoops would be prone to stretching in use.

I never had an issue with mine on my Raptor, but they weren't identical to yours David.
I had the Best Bitz head assembly on mine - same idea on the hoops though, and it worked very well!
I'm not positive, but I think that Best Bitz stopped trading some time ago??
          Shame that.

-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

            And a DX8 too

I'm just using std plastic ones (or aftermarket plastic ones that are identical).

I think mine were Quick UK. Might try them anyway.
