  • Fan shroud

Calling all Synergy owners. I can't seem to get the fan to not scrape the inside of the shroud. The manual says cut the shroud away, but that means all the way to miss the fins. Can I file the fins down to make them narrow to fit it the shroud?

i wouldnt if i were you, you could make it go out of balance, hence why they say to cut the shrouding i guess

Put the engine and shroud in as shown fix the shroud in place then loosen the engine mount enough to push the engine further up. Also you have left the washer on the engine. Mine was touching then some fine adjustment this way got it free all round.

          Thanks Stuart
Do I leave the engine washer on? Can I put the other side frame on and then adjust the motor up and down. Looking at the shroud I think it is twisted and the edges point in causing it to touch the fan.

Yes, washer on and put the frames together then adjust the motor up and down.

The MHW feature talked about trimming the fan shroud...sounds like they need a mod to the production line to me.

The feature also spoke about dialing in the engine etc...sounds a bit technical to me?

I am sure it is fairly simple once you know what you are doing?

I have encountered a couple of machines where the fan shroud location is very close. If you are unable to move the shroud to get completely clear of the fan then you may want to try reaming out the fan shroud support holes in the frames as this will give you a little more adjustment. Something like 0.5 - 1m should do it.

                  Hope this helps
