Well I got the time to open my lovely big FasLad box last night, sat down and enjoyed myself- I love heli builds.

The N5C quality looks superb with some great design features even on the little bits I did last night. There is a lovely touch for securing the skid tubes- you will need to get one of the carbon push rods out of the tail boom to use as a tool to push the locking cylinder down the skid tube- it is a smooth push so maintains orientation until it gets to the bolt hole- you may need to stick a 1mm something into the hole just to line up the bolt thread vertically.

The modular servo tray looks great- put it all together and you end up with a "lump" of servos in a block- really nice.
I think even my wife was impressed at the lovely tail slider- beautiful quality and totally unlike the Velo90 that I built- looking forward to continuing and I will try to also post some pics.

The frames went together last night, engine in and it now stands up

Seriously- this heli does not need a build thread so far, it is an absolute pleasure to assemble- hopefully that will not change.
Everything is drilled perfectly, lines up perfectly, is nicely and efficiently designed- it makes me keep smiling, and that is really sad :P

It has to be up there with other perfect relaxing evenings- bottle of nice beer, Jo Whiley on the radio with some great music, and a aheli to build

                Hi Alex,

Good to hear your enjoying the build of the N5C!, it is an awesome kit!

All parts are excellent quality and this makes the kit go together like a dream! I've been stripping one of my other machines recently so the N5C has not progressed as much as i wanted but i should be able to update the thread shortly.

I initially started the build thread as an insight into the N5C kit and how Matt has progressed the original N5 to the N5C with all the neat little features he has added to the kit.

I have a thread with Hints & Tips for Matt Botos and Team Synergy here: http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/synerg...ps-tricks.html
                Thanks!

2 1/2 months later, and still no flight reports on this model??

What's it like compared to the original? How much lighter in REAL terms is it?

                  Just curious...

having flown both the N5 and the N5c, i prefer the N5 atm, but its not that fair really cuz the n5c was FBL and was brand new
