  • N5 upgraded auto hub

Looking to replace the one way bearing on my N5 and have heard there is an upgraded unit but have not found one in stock anywhere.

Does anyone know of stock or should I just replace with the normal one for now and wait for new stock?

    Hi Mark,

The New Auto-Hub is part number 200-407 and you can find it here: 200-407 Auto Hub Assembly

It is currently showing out of stock but i will try to find out when it is due back into stock.

If you are having issues with the standard Auto-Hub locking up then i highly recommend cleaning out the one way bearing and checking the sleeve as some of them have been found to be slighly out of tollerance i checked mine and found it was approx 12.04mm where it should be approx 11.98.

What i did was to polish the outside of the sleeve with some wet n dry sandpaper, doing this manually would have taken forever so i found that the internal rubber hub of a sanding drum for a Dremel was a good fit on the internal diameter of the sleeve and once tightened the rubber hub expanded and had a good hold on the sleeve and allowed it to run true when spinning. I then run the Dremel at a slow'ish speed and with a little oil and some wet n dry sandpaper i polished the outer surface of the sleeve, it took a few passes and testing with a vernier gauge but eventually i got it down to under 12mm.

Once that was done i cleaned out the one-way bearing with solvent and Air Duster to remove all the grease and then re-lubed with Tri-Flow Oil. Spun the bearing on the sleeve to work the oil in and then re-assembled the whole assembly into the helicopter.

Let me know how you go and if it helps i have my original Auto-Hub that i can dig out for you as it works a treat that i can send you to get you up and running.
    Thanks!
