  • cracking noise from N5

    Hi

I have a stange cracking noise coming from my N5 !
It does not do it all the time only sometimes when I first
    start to spool up !
I thought it was the belt tension at first and jumping teeth
so I checked that and its fine
    Anybody any ideas !

I thought maybe the one way bearing in the auto hub !

    Help !!

I'd probably say that it is the auto-hub, it is just the loading and unloading of the drive train and it is usually heard as the engine splutters during spool-up. You can also find it does it if you attempt to spool back up after an auto and such like.
      Thanks!

This is the belt acting like a rubber band. When it recoils the teeth sometimes come in contact with each other. Perfectly normal and will not cause any harm.

        Thanks!
