i didn't, but I ordered some 0.5mm brass sheet of the bay for £3, used the other shim as a template and wolah, a new shim.

Just to be sure, i measured both shim thickness with calipers and both were the same - result.

Another FYI, although certain online retailers may show the N5 Clutch (part no. 610-160) with a bearing - it doesn't come with it.

Fortunately in my earlier escapade I had ordered the bearing seperately - i know a quick phone call could have sorted this, but who's going to be answering the phone at midnight on a Sunday?

Now I'm f**ked off. How is it that the same clutch part from Evolution RC has the bearing in and the one i bought from fast-lads doesn't.

Seems like i'll be buying another clutch as my attempt at pressing the bearing has failed miserably.

Starting think i've got a nice £1200 paper weight.... sigh

You don't seem to have any luck Daz. I'd be sending the clutch back to fast lads.

It transpires that there should have been a bearing in the clutch luck of the Irish (or half in my case) eh

Only just seen this and can confirm that it should have the bearing. A replacement I had early on certainly had the bearing, so yes, definately just bad luck!

200-405 is the clutch assembly (clutch and one way)
                  610-160 is the clutch alone

Hopefully the dealers have this correct on their websites.

I will most likely discontinue the clutch alone as it seems most people do not own an arbor press to correctly press the one way bearing into to clutch.

                  Thanks,

                  Matt

I did a little more digging and it looks like there is some confusion between UK distributor and dealer as the part listed on Evolution RC is 610-160 but the picture shows the clutch with bearing(200-405). I will make sure this gets resolved.

                    Thanks!

God, that probably means that i have purchased another bearingless clutch

Daz, think you find evo only has clutches with bearing even if listed wrong, I think I am correct in saying that the 1st clutches over didn't have bearings.
We asked to have the bearings and fitted all clutches with bearings although our part no never changed as the price was to stay the same.
We will alter the site later but to be honest it's easy in the long run to send a clutch with a bearing than to pay two lots of postage due to the customer fitting wrong and its all our fault lol, I am sure you're get to the bottom of the silly faults and find the n5 ticks quite a few boxes.
