  • counting hours.

    Finally done it.

Just counting down the hours till a box is delivered with a nice new shiny n5 in it.

I would love to ring in sick to start the build but I have to go to work and hand in my notice as i got a new better job this evening.

More money less hours better workshop better people and most importantly they pay OVERTIME and even more importantly better BOSS.

    Roll on tomorrow.

First tip, change the tail slider locking Washer to a better quality one, if you need one just give me a shout and I'll send you one over.

This is the type of (8mm) Star-Locking Washer i have been using:

You can get them from any fixing suppliers or from the following online store:

          Thanks guys

Cheers Ross about time tell me about it. Can't wait to start the build.
          couple of questions.
Do i need a gov sensor mount like a csm mount?
I hear they are a bit sensitive to tail blade choice, what are you using on yours and what length?
Using V blade mains and black align carbon paddles or kbdd orange ones.

If your going to fit the magnets into the clutch bell then get the CSM Synergy bracket, it makes a nice neat job of the sensor. Also you'll need some M2.5 x 8mm bolts and nuts to bolt the bracket to the mount. QuickUK do these if you've not got any.

With regards to the tail blades, I'm using Radix 92mm on mine and the tail is awesome! Solid and precise!! It doesn't need 95mm tail blades and the Radix 92mm suit it really well! Had zero issues with mine. I built Andy's and we put Edge 92mm on that and they were also good so I would say stick to a 92mm tail blade if you can.

I've not tried any other blades on mine but I'm running Radix 600SB's on it and they are excellent!! Perfect match for the N5 in my opinion! I've heard a few people running other types of blades and they say the N5 feels sluggish and slow so it seems to be that blade choice makes a huge difference! Give the VBlades a try as they are usually excellent but your welcome to give my Radix a try at some point if you like.

I'm running the Align White Carbon paddles on mine and find them really good, smooth and precise and agile! A good match with the Radix 600SB's! I would like to try a set of Stubz though to see how they compare.

Hope this helps and if you need any help during the build give me a shout.
            Cheers!
            Ross
