Another Beastx N5!

Took advantage of the beautiful weather today and maidened my Beast'ed N5.

After battling with a Total G for the last six months with no success, I finally gave up on it when Matt Botos told me he'd had the same troubles. If he can't make it work on an N5, what chance have I got!

Anyway, got hold of a Beastx courtesy of Dave Rand (DRM Black7) and I've got to say I'm well impressed!
I messed about with the tail a bit today and it's pretty good now. Haven't touched the cyclic controls yet except to change from 'extreme' to tx mode and up the end points a bit, but it's only gonna be fine tuning from here.

I'm running a modified stock head at the moment. I had an RJX on it to start with, but the geometry on the modified head works better. I can get the 6 degree blue light to come on just before 6 degrees. I'll get a Synergy FBL head sometime soon though.

At last I can get on with flying this model instead of spending all day with it attached to a damn laptop!

Is that a 55 in there if so what does it fly like . Only got a 50 but with added BX its cooool assss ice.

Martin you need a 55 in your life mate, I wasn't sure I made the right choice when I had a few issues with it cutting out. But with that out of the way all I can say it's awesome..

End points upto 110 is all I've done so far. May try it a bit higher yet. Haven't tried any expo yet but I don't normally use it on anything.

I'm not gonna get into any 'Beast v Vbar' debates cos I've never used a Vbar... Though I did consider getting one instead of the Beast briefly. But I know (sadly ) I'll never be able to out fly this once it's fully dialed in.

Thanks Dave . I think it would be ballistic after seeing my mates 600n 3g with a 55 in its engine room

I got a stack of overtime coming up it looks like but I now got my eyes on a Elypoo reg.
I told myself I needed to stop spending money but itsss soooo hard (no pun) with helis and now the Blade mcp coming out I think I need to stick with the 50 unless I sell it and put funds towards a 55 but whos going to buy an engine so early in the year :/.

I buy what I'm after normally in the mistaken belief that I will sell what it's replacing later and it'll only cost me half of what it did, I've still got my OS50 and TT53 in the garage, both good engines and I might get round to selling them someday.

Fair do's I did do a good job funding the conversion so happy with my self there - perhaps a treat is on the cards

It's only ever had a 55 in it Martin, so can't compare it to anything.
