  • n5 tail out put shaft

I was just wondering is there a problem with the tail out shaft on the n5 where it snaps? was talking to a friend in the states where he has heard of at least 2 snapping

Only if the tail blades are out of balance like on Jamies in the nightfly at Champs, the night tail blades had the battery move in one, set up a nasty vibe but he carried on regardless and the tail output shaft sheared at the hub. He had over 100 flights on the machine with the same tail shaft. So I would say not a problem.

I've not heard of this at all, only issues are if you run too stiff/large tail blades - really want max 92mm.

I'd not heard anything about this. My shaft did break in flight on Saturday during the night flying, but this appears to be down to a p*ss poor set of Torsion night tail blades. One of them appears to have dislodged the battery, causing a massive imbalance, resulting in severe vibration and eventually shearing the tail shaft. That shaft had about 100 flights on it without issue, so I'mm 100% confiden tthat there is no issue there...
