      The crank shaft does protrude in to the clutch a little, but by the time the starter hex is fitted and you've removed virtually all end float in the starter shaft, it all fits just fine. It's also definately not locking up in there as I can easily hold the starter shaft hex coupler while the engine is idling.

      In short, just build it up, it will be just fine

        Yep, you guys are right. It builds ok. Guess I should not make these calls so late at night. Thanks for the help guys and for putting my mind at rest.

              Yeah, late is the only time I get to myself to build. But it is well on the way now, just got the head to do then start connecting everything up, so she will be flying for the weekend if the weather holds
