  • N5 manual error?

I was just putting my main shaft, oneway, tail drive gear into my N5 and once they were all fitted I meshed the engine start shaft and all was good

I'm then just idly spinning the main gear and think hang on this is wrong

The main gear is freewheeling in the wrong direction

Either my oneway is built with the bearing upside down or the manual is showing the main gear install upside down!!

The manual or the notes included state that it can be turned around if the bearing is in the wrong way.

Mines the same, it worked fine when I first flew it as it was all pre-built, then I took the one way sleeve out as it had jammed up to re-grease everything. I assembled it as per the manual and as I was talking to Phil to try and help him out realised my one way was now spinning backwards! So I'd say yes the manuel is wrong. Either that or they have put a lot of one ways in backwards.
Can others confirm that their main gear bolts onto the hub from the bottom, ie bolt heads facing down and main gear underneath the lip on the hub?

Just to confirm, the main gear and hub does fit fine no matter which way up it is.

Just this minute read that! Missed it first time I read through the notes and tips. Having installed it upside down I'd come to the conclusion it was the same offset either way up and not a problem
