Did you epoxy the liner in ? Mine catches but only if the clutch is pressed right the way in as it grabs on the small amount of epoxy around the bottom edge of the liner. I Did the single tape method as it says and pulling the clutch out just a fraction will give perfectly free rotation. It's definately not the liner that catches on mine.

                      Headblock, swash, washout fitted.

Dampers and head axle support - dampers are very big and pretty stiff too (no pun intended!)

Very sexy looking metal grips fitted along with bell-hiller mixing arms. I had to place the grips in the oven to allow the outer radial bearings to seat - very tight tolerances, but once warmed for 10 minutes they dropped straight in.

All linkages fitted and horns ready for fitting to servos once radio installed.

Rough radio install for setup purposes

Final radio install, servo horns installed. Wiring is not as tidy as I want, but its functional for the weekend to allow me to test fly it!

Finished! Canopy fitted, Radix 600SB's fitted, Radix 95mm tails fitted, Align 600 white carbon paddles fitted, Header tank fitted to engine mount bolt with stand off and long bolt, remote glow fitted.

                          Just another finished shot

A few quick thoughts on the build. Very very simple to build. If you've had aligns and you think they are easy to build, this is just as easy as any align (or any other for that matter) machine. The fact that all parts had the relevant screws loose fitted is great. Saves hunting through bags and boxes for the correct bolt - something that is refreshing and would be great if every manufacturer adopted this. As a direct result, I had ZERO PARTS MISSING! Every single bolt, washer, spacer, stand off was all there. The only couple of parts that were in the wrong bag for the build order were the flange bearings for the ccpm shaft (which were on the ccpm shaft in the head bag), and the tail bell crank block which i think was in the fan shroud bag.

Everything is super chunky, but well thought out. The tailbox is simplicity at its best, the head is a work of art, the canopy i now love; both the shape and the design, and the radio tray just works. The only place there wasnt any locktite where it should have been out of the box (as most parts were pre-assembled) was the tail hub on to the shaft, and the anti-rotation bolt/bearing on the back of the swash. All the linkage lengths were spot on, which makes a change as every other machine ive ever built have been wrong by some degree.

Anyway, I'm off to bed, maiden flight in the morning, I'll get some in flight pics, and hopefully a video if Swashbuckler brings his HD Camera
