Clutch stack complete. Gov magnet glued in, clutch liner glued in (although this will come glued in on subsequent kits).

Front radio tray complete with throttle and tail servo's.

Right hand side frame assembly almost complete (note the direction of the bearing blocks - 10mm id bearing goes at the top facing down, the 8mm id one goes at the bottom facing up)

It's taken about 3 hours to get this far, including stopping to take pictures, so a very quick build thus far

5 minute epoxy and made a right bleeding mess lol. I've cleaned it up now with a bit of 180grit paper. I think it will be slightly draggy to start with, but hoping it will bed in quite quickly

It will do and as you say it will settle in. I've glued these liners in with CA before and it doesn't work. Last about 10 flights, epoxy is the way.

Just read my instruction book and liked what I saw. Simple and but effective.

My build starts very soon and hopefuly you guys might see it on here

3 wraps of electrical tape has always served me well as gap for the clutch.

                    cheers

                                425cc (14.5 ounce) Fuel Tank

More build Info @ Matt Botos R/C Helicopter Site with on going building tips..

Clutch liner: I found JB weld.. 24hr or any 24hr epoxy worked best, as it allowed a little time to soak into the material.. The 2 or 3 tape method works, just cut the tape in the same place as it started, it allows keeping the height of the tape all the same level.

I always worked on a 6 thou air gap, but that involved measuring the clutch and inside of the bell and liner. then adding tape as many times as needed..this allowed the difference being the glue, prob a bit anal.. Lol.. in the end it will wear to what is its own level.

While having the epoxy out, look thur the manual for other parts that need fixing.. ie Boom supports, tail slider .. if fixed at the same time.. the onward build is quicker..

Frame: Its G10 on the N5, but most frames with other machines now are G10 covered with the last layer of carbon giving the impression of carbon.. Full carbon was supplied on the N9 as a upgrade set, but did work out really pricey, although looked cool...

Replacing the frame is very cost effective being its G10 and the core idea around the N5, seems to be around ease of build/ maintenance/onward running costs..

Nice Build thread by the way Jamie...
