N5 - The Build

So today I got the phone call to say the kits had arrived and were ready to go, so I got in the car and drove up there after work and picked up my N5 kit from Climb-Out. The build will begin tomorrow evening, but for now, here's an insight in to what you see as you open the box

Initial impressions are very very good. A nice touch I've noticed is that every single part has the relevant screws already inserted, I presume to stop any shortages. A very good idea, which will also save you hunting through a bag of bolts for the required bolts and washers. The canopy colours are honestly so much brighter in the flesh, and I am really quite happy with it.

The build begins tomorrow, so I'll update as I go

That canopy looks a lot better than I first thought.

No it doesn't, it's now the "N5 SE", and as such includes only metal main and tail grips.

I am genuinely pleased with how the canopy looks in the flesh, The orange is metallic and looks really smart in daylight, and the blue is actually more of a purple/blue. The finish is also excellent, no colour bleeding on the edges, no bleeding in to the adjacent colours, and no overspray internally.

Looks a lovely piece of kit, will be good to see how it all comes together, it is good to hear your comments on the screws being loosely inserted, makes goods sense to me.

Here goes

Fuel tank complete


Skid Assembly complete. Nice little touch using the flybar to move the threaded lock-downs in to place.


Cyclic servos installed in to the servo carrier. Pay attention to the direction of the cutout at the front and top.


Engine assembly complete. Very simple "pinch" style hub allowing for very quick installation.
