If the second batch of kits is out fairly soon after the first, i would say wait untill we've beta tested the first ones and theres plenty of reviews on it. I will hopefully be doing a build review/flight review over the weekend if it gets here intime. I'll be running the TT redline 53 in it aswell, and all the electronics as it comes out of the 600 so hopefully can give an honest opinion on the differences in flight and if it's worth while getting. I know most peoples reviews will say it flies awesome with loads of pop, but most are buying new OS55's, YS56 engines to go in it so thats bound to be the outcome!

I have had my pre order in since day 1, and the only thing holding me back is funds at the moment, but loving my 600 and don't want to sell it

I guess that was me talking bollocks I just assumed the velocity bits were cast rather than cnc. They do say never assume as it makes an ass of u & me. All the rest of the things I said about it are true though - stupid tank, elevator shaft could be better, they could sell the elevator shaft seperately for the people who have got the 140 swash mod, and it flies lovely
No probs, agree on the daft tank and elevator shaft. I don't think the elevator shaft will change as it would require all new bell cranks, bearings etc etc just have to remember to change that shaft after a good crash. Charley tells me the new tank is not that far off.

I already flew the N5 but I'm interested to hear what the new owners make of the first production kits.

can someone (ade) confirm the AUW on this thing. the mag says it's 8lbs dry with no blades but i can't see how it's so heavy?

              cheers

If you read the article in MHW this month you will see that CNC machined parts and stacked carbon frames are a much cheaper production method than cast metal & moulded plastic parts. For shortish runs, such as Outrage kits, their method of construction is the cheapest option, moulds for moulded plastic parts cost £££££'s to produce so need large production runs to make them viable - guess this explains why there are so many cheap Chinese clones about

The N5 looks a very nice heli, should be very strong and it's a good price, the metal tail drive pulley in particular looks a good, well made item, better than some other manufacturers curly plastic ones.

My model that i have been flying since xmas weights in at 7lb 8oz with header tank ready to fly, i can assure you that the model feels very light in the air as the pitch response is very crisp :-)
If u r not crashing u r not flying hard enought

well thats ok then, the mag this month says 8lbs no blades or fuel. i assume that one is your model and it's an error.

                    cheers

                          This is one substantial 50.

It has parts on it that would be at home on a 90 and for this reason I thought it might feel heavy in the air.

This was not the case on the prototype I flew. It felt light, poppy, precise and most of all I felt immediately at home with the N5 which was confidence inspiring. For me it felt very predictable and had a nice feel to it but still with great capability.

The N5 in standard form is a great machine and people should not get too distracted or put off by there being a "upgrade kit" available at release. Synergy I feel are just satisfying demand. There is nothing wrong with the plastic grips and bearing blocks.

3D flyers will love this machine.

I am currently trying to justify another 50 in my fleet to join my Velocity 50.

I am sure the N5 will be a great success in a crowded 50 market.

                              Synergy n5 upgrade pack

I thought the stock n5 was awesome, crisp, accurate, and fast, but so stable in the hover, defo a winner in my books, belt driven so u can afford to go lower and not risk the tail stripping, chunky grips that are cheap as chips to fix, for me its the one to go next to the n9, after my brief history with synergy, from like charmouth, hav decided im flying synergy from now on, n5 is a winner

Had an Email from Fast Lads - looks like the N5 will come with Metal main and tail grips after all at an increaed price of £449.
