Synergy n5 upgrade pack

Hi Guys

here is some pictures of the upgrade pack parts that will be availble for the machine, all are machined billet ali finish :-) very high standard as to be expected, grip arms are availble sep as well..

Looks like I may need to dig out the program for machining the titanium blade grip arms I made for the kasama head and modify for the same on these.

Main blade grips are nearly the same size as the 90 Metal grips so will be very robust and durable :-) only difference is the bolt hole spacing so its slightly shorter grip

So before these (expensive) kits are even available in the shops, the manufacturers are saying that certain parts aren't up to the job?

Or are they cashing in on the fact that us modellers are just like Magpies when it comes to shiny bits?

It is the dogs danglies already - they wont need the upgrades, just like the N9. But we all want them

my stock prototype machine has had 3 months of hard use with standard kit on it with no problems just ask a few of the pilots that have flown the standard machine of its performance.. the upgrade parts are for those that want the metal blade grips and also the metal bearing blocks.. they are not needed as the machine is spot on out of the box and more than capable, the plastic grips are probably the biggest grips on the market and are very beefy.

If we did not have metal grips avaible as a upgrade we would have been asked for them in the not to distant future anyway so they are here from the start.

you would of thought the price of it that would be standard on heli as n9 now comes with it

So for £400 you honestly expect a kit of this standard to also include CNC machined blade grips etc? Remember that Align metal bits are all cast with cut edges to make them look pretty, but in actual reality they arent that strong or high quality.

The Fury 55 has plastic mains and tails and is £500.00 and they are good enough for the MA 55! it is the quality of the plastic grips that count and i am sure that the MA/N5 ones are more than up to the job its just that people like to have upgrades..

As Jamiem has pointed out that just because Align give you metal grips it does not mean that they are of the best quality on the market they are made to a price which is very cheap indeed.. if you look back 10 years ago a machine like the N5 would be around the £800.00 price so in fact flying helis has never been cheaper...:-)

I've got a Fury 55 and will hopefully get my N5 this week, I am looking forward to comparing. The 55 is definately my favourite heli at the moment and I have high hopes for the N5.

The grips on the 55 are plastic and very chunky, I have every confidence in them as I did with the plastic grips on my Synergy N9's.

I will no doubt get the upgrade pack as I am a heli magpie but I am mainly interested in the metal bearing blocks as these I do prefer having on a heli.

Also I'm loving the return to a well executed belt driven tail. Torque tube's are so last year.... lol

Can you tell me if these will be available on their own??
