I spent the day at Redhill club today, flying my N9, and Climb-Out's pre-production N5. Last weekend at Charmouth it was somewhat lacking in power, and kept leaning out through the flight, so this tainted the experence somewhat. Today we made a few changes, including adding a header tank, changing the plug, and most importantly, re-seating the tank bung as it was leaking very slightly. What a difference a day makes as the saying goes! After a few tanks, we got the engine to where it should always have been in terms of power delivery - much much more powerful than last weekend, no leaning out through the tank, and smooth consistent power
We ran about 7 or 8 tanks through it in total, myself flying either 3 or 4 tanks, tweaking the cyclics a little (I actually turned them down a tad as it just didn't need to be as fast as it can be, even on the Align white paddles which seem to be very slow on the 600), tweaking the engine, and generally getting more comfortable on it.
Impressions? Same as last week, but with the power it should have had! Feels like a very very big model in the air, tracks very well, even in the strong breeze we had today, no pitchyness at all, very crisp cyclic and pitch response, and auto's very nicely, even with Radix 600 Stick Bangers.
Justin (Shuglu) came down aswell, and had a flight on it (before the rear bearing on the os55 decided it had had enough!), so I'm sure he will post his thoughts later, along with loads of pictures he took.
