None that I am aware of. Until recently Matt Botos has been runnin the plastic grips on his pre production model for 600+ flights. From what I've been told it's purely a logical decision that virtually every kit sold in the states and pre ordered here had the upgrade package, therefore it makes sense to reduce manufacturing costs on the kit by deleting the plastic grips. This means the production number on the metal bits go up, and higher volume means lower cost, which will translate in to lower replacement part costs for us.
The kit I flew at charmouth has the plastic grips, and that was awesome, so I'm really excited to see how it flys with the metal grips

I have seen enough video of the N5 being given the beans with plastic grips and it looks great...
