On my Machine i am running 1800mah to 2100mah gives the best balance on the model, i just fly 4 to 5 flights then change the pack over, keeps the model light and the pack cost down..

So the N5 has an old fashioned belt tail drive then? What happened to progress?

Yes there will be a TT conversion at some point, however the belt drive works great no problems what so ever, nice thing is even if you do touch the tail down your not going to take any gears out..:-)

Matt used to be a Mikado pilot for a long time and knows that if you get the belt setup right it will be as good as a TT. Look at some of the most expensive machines on the market they are Belt drive.. i for one think a Belt drive is good on a 50 since you take more chances with a 50 than you would with a 90. From testing Matt has now over 700 flights on his machine and has not replaced the belt with only 1 accident at around 520 flights.. the machine should be bullet proof if build correctly and looked after :-)

I prefer TT's purely for the ease.

Push it in and away you go. Belts you have to mess around with getting the tension right.
OK gears can be a pain on some machines to change but I do prefer them

As long as there is an upgrade planned then I'm happy

What if there are bits that need replacing, will they be available FOC like what Outrage did with the Velo or will they have to be brought like Align??

I wouldn't class it as old fashion at all. It makes a lot more sense to me.

Certainly for a 50 size I would always elect for a belt drive system. They are so much more durable than a TT system. For instance in most light crashes (cocked up auto's) you will always be replacing a boom, TT, set of gears and so on. I most instances on a belt drive it will be just the boom to replace.
                      Cheers Matt

Personally I like belt drive on 50 size machines. Lower crash costs, more durable, they just work. At charmouth last weekend, Danny lock put the tail in the grass a couple of times mid tic-toc; theres no way a TT system would have withstood it. I had a knight 3D for 2 years odd, and on the bando belt I never had a problem. Never broke one in flight or in a crash, so give me a belt any day

Yeh nothing wrong with belt drives, i like there simplicity and toughness compared to TT

Its just a case of personnal preference here.

i prefer a tt as no booms pulling in no changing of rudder linkages and lot less static
