  • Paul, I'm 99% sure the metal upgrade packages are coming in the same shipment as the kits. They will be here very very soon

      • jamie, i was meaning there is 2-1 kits to upgrade kits. in other words 50% of the kits in customs won't have metal. thats what i heard over weekend anyway.

        cheers

        • Ah ok, not sure on that one, I'll find out

As for canopy, there has only ever been one design for the production kit? The one in the MHW review was painted as it was a pre-production one which was plain white.

              • Ah, no what I meant Tom was in reference to his question about having enough "upgrades". Every kit will have the grips

                • so how much will the bearing blocks be tbh im not really fussed about the blade grips its the bearing blocks that intrest me more, why have thay not been included in the SE version

                  • I presume because the bearing blocks are purely bling and only add weight. The tail blade grips have been recommended by Matt Botos if your flying hard 3D, and not mny people trust plastic main blade grips. SO I would guess thats why . I'm happy with that, I can always buy bearing blocks at a later date. Constant upgrades is just as fun a flying for me

the importance of the blocks (metal ones ) is if the bearing locks it will rip into the plastic and cause slop also the metal blocks can have a tighter grip on bearings and u can use threadlock to stop bearings slipping and rotating in the block. the metal also helps create structural integrity/strength and stops frames twisting
edit: still would like to know how much the blocks are going to be and why have thay not been put into the SE version, you would think that in a superior edition you would get all upgrades

                      • Conversely the metal bearing blocks will also transmit much more vibration and shock forces in to the bearings as there is zero "give". I've had plastic blocks on my N9 for the past 100+ bottles of fuel and not had a problem of any kind. Remember they have metal hex spacers in them which will add strength and rigidity.

                        • I use metal bearing blocks in my 600nsp, only because theyre bling though. Since going to metal blocks, i found I needed to put ceramic bearings in them otherwise they would go notchy after every crash. The plastics worked perfect, and I have never noticed any difference in frame stiffness or performance on the bench or in the air. I will be buying the metal ones though

                          • just had a look at the midland site and found that the metal blocks are £29.99 each. will this stay the same or will it be revised my point being that at the start it was £400 for the kit with £80 for the upgrade kit so now its gone up to £450 for the kit and if you want the blocks its going to cost you £60 more this then makes the heli £510 ,which is £30 more than the starting price with the upgrade kit at £480
