Yeah, I saw them earlier. Speaking to Ade (from Climbout) at the weekend, he was under the impression the kits were coming with plastic head & tail grips with metal as upgrades.

I can confirm that the kis will be standard with Plastic mains and tails but the upgrade package will include the metal mains and tails plus metal bearing blocks .. at a very attractive price! the wait is nearly over .. :-)

I can see obvious bits of Sceadu SDX, Knight 3D and Fury 55 in that heli.

                Looks good.

Why bother with the plastic grips when the competetion all do metal??

And I bet the upgrade will put it way above the competition in terms of price

I guess they couldnt mass produce the kits wat the same price as the competition and still have better quality parts. Something has got to give

Andy is definately right in one respect there! You cant have top quality CNC'd components in the right places, along with parts that all fit, dont REQUIRE upgrades etc for the same or similar money as Align. Align seem to have "educated" the world and his wife in to believing it is absolutely necessary to have every piece made out of metal, why is this? I'm sure if plastic tail grips are ok for some of the most expensive heli's out there, then they are good enough for this one. I guess it's also worth pointing out that Align metals are all cast with cut edges to make them look pretty, wereas the Synergy parts are all CNC cut from billet alluminium. Another comparison. The Fury 55 is £499 and has plastic main and tails, but I dont see or hear of anyone complaining about these, and I will guarantee that the N5 kits will be substantially less than the Fury!

At the end of the day you get what you pay for, which is totally fine. No one is forced to buy any one particular machine, and we all have our reasons for buying whatever we do. Me? Personally I don't want to follow the "norm" and buy another Align heli. I love the bullet proof nature of my N9 - not one component (barring head dampers) has worn out including ball links etc in well over 40 gallons in the last year, the backup is great (unlike the non-existant backup from Align/Robbe etc), and the prices are still keen enough for me to justify the extra. Will I be buying an N5? Don't think I need to answer that one

Yep i agree with jamie, have plastic tail grips on my aurora, andi prefer the plstic til grips on the 600 and 700, but i did notice a big difference between metal and plastic mainips my 600le ad stnd pro i had.
I think most N5 owners will upgrade anyway, most have on the N9 with great results
