  • best way to load lipos in my E7

    Hello all,

as this is my first 700 electric I am trying to work out the best way to fit the two 6s lipos. Is it easier to put the first battery in with the connectors to the back and the second one the same, or both connections in the middle, or have you made a tray, done the connections first and then slide them in and strap them down.

I made a tray, first lipo with the connector facing the front at the top, the next one facing the front but connector on the side.

I loaded both with connectors on top facing forwards. Worked for me

        Hi Kev,

I am using 2x Optipower 5S 4300 Packs in my E6 and initially i kept them as single packs and loaded them individually, the way i did this was to load the first pack towards the read with the power leads towards the front. I then loaded the second battery, again with the power leads facing the front. I have velcro to hold them in place and then i have Scorpion cinch type straps with rubber face to secure them in place. I connected the packs together with a 'Y' lead and then into the ESC.

Most recently i have modified my setup to aid the fitting and removal of the batteries to make things easier and simpler. What i have done is use the 'Stick' conversion kits from Optipower to convert my 2 packs into a single 'stick' pack. I have both packs orientated so that the power leads/balance connectors are at either end of the pack and i fold the rearmost power lead around the pack so that it runs toward the front of the pack. I have also done away with the additional 'Y' series lead and built the series connector into the ESC to cut down on excess wire length. I then plug the batteries straight into the ESC.

You can find the Opti-Stick Pack Conversion Kits here: Fast Lad Performance

I have seen the stick pack heat shrink, does it make it hard to charge the two packs? I will be parallel charging the packs

Velcro on the base plate I load my 6s opti packs with the connector on the left side whilst facing the tail.
Use a carbon plate about 300mm long just slightly narrower than the battery tray width to place under the packs so you can slide them back into place with the series lead attached & then withdraw the plate so he Velcro can stick & stick. I call it a toungue depresser. Do the same with the second pack with the connector on the same side.
I then use synergy battery straps to strap it all down.

No issues with charging, i charge mine using a Hyperion Super Duo3 at the moment but i am going to look at a parallel charging setup soon and will probably go for the PowerLab8 with the Multi Para Board.
              Thanks!
