  • E7 torque conversion kit update

The E6/7 TT Conversion Kit Retail Price is $199.00. Dealers and distributors will not be happy because I had to remove all of the margin in order to keep you, the customer, happy with the final price.

Release date - The CNC shop is trying to ship TT Conversion Kits next week 4/9 - 4/13. I will keep you posted as to whether that happens or not. I know the wait has been long but the drive system is right and I think you will be happy with it.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Matt

That's a lot of components and prob be £150 uk which doesn't seem too bad. Downside if someone wants a E7 TT the cost of kit plus conversion is too high. Guess he will ship out TT kits as well.

Next question is it needed? The belt drive was sold as a robust, less parts lighter system and works well. Makes me chuckle how it all goes around in a circle.

Having said all that choice is always good.

Still keep hearing of belts snapping Michael, although mine has been fine, i'm going to change the belt out next week though for the mikado version as its reinforced with kevlar and should be stronger.
May do the conversion just out of peace of mind, but in general i do prefer the belt system over the T/T

        That's a massive upgrade.

I think we will soon see E7/TT kits and E6/E7 belt kits to keep prices reasonable.

I believe there was big demand for TT from the pilots. I am not experienced enough to judge this and don't own a Synergy (I'll at some point, it's great heli), but having seen it in flight I think belt was working just fine.

Maybe an auto belt tensioner upgrade would be good addition.

My beef with the belt was you had to run it soooo tight to stop it slapping inside the boom it was crazy, that's why there are so many reports of it snapping.

I put up with the odd slap on mine as I was not comfortable having it that tight. Flew fantastic though

I bet it was - I was really close to buy that airframe from you, but then TDR happened.
A Synergy 550 is coming at some point...

p.s. I really like to be able to talk directly to the designers of the helis I own and Matt Botos is probable one of the most dedicated and passionate, not to mention great pilot.

Mines had a belt issue since I've owned it on spool up u can see the blades & motor kind of skip.
Then in flight u get a wagging tail that's intermittent I was pinning my hopes of my E7's survival on this TT upgrade but to me now it just sounds like matt is making excuses to warrant a high price on it. He has to remember he designed a 90 sized electric on the edge of belt technology & usability now it seems us the flyers of this machine are gonna end up broke to fix a ill advised / designed 90 helicopter tail that just plain isn't reliable.

No mate I didn't, is that what people are doing?

@martin, have you got the belt too loose? It feels really tight up the front end but check it at the back end if you haven't already

I got Ross to check the tension but it seems after just one flight it's gone slack again as its so tight.
I even tried the logo belt to no avail, I realy wish I had bought the logo 600 se instead of the E7.

Naturally with a belt you will have a side under tension so adjust that side. I imagine for the length of belt the boom diameter is the problem from memory is it 22mm versus 25mm on the Logo 600/SE. Running a tight belt will cause problems of this kind. That's where a TT wins hands down it just fits where a belt has variables ie user.

I went SE route, carbon frame set, RJX head run any headspeed doesnt blow out main gears anymore like the plastic frame did simply brilliant and auw under 10lbs.

Having said that I like the look of the E7, didn't appreciate there were belt problems so would drop the TT kit then if I buy one.

I'm thinking just use it as an E6 but will the motor a 4035 540 be ok on a 12s heli swinging 620 blades?
                        What packs would I need?

I'm sure guys with one will tell you. The motor is fine, 12s 3000-3300 would be ball park. Keep it light.

That motor will rock in a 600 size .

As for packs if you like it light then go light but if not I reckon it will be fine with upto 4300's. This is what I'm now sticking in the Fusion as its too floaty on 3500's for me any way

12s 4300's would make it a pig! These aren't light airframes. Personal choice but 8-9lbs for a 600 class seems ballpark. That would be about what you would put on an E7!!
