  • E7 vbar issue

just building the E7 and came to a problem with setting up the vbar.

the max pitch range i can get is 18 deg, i.e 9 up and 9 down. that is the vbar at the max setting and TBH the servos are moving plenty to get full pitch range.

given there is no adjustment on the head i aint got a clue how to fix this one?

    cheers

How weird, I ain't got my E7 here so can't check the head but I dialed down the pitch to 12.

I followed the manual with regards to the lengths of the links. What's the pitch figures in the travel adjust screen?
I'd bet it's an electronic issue rather than the machine somewhere. Vbar or tx??

Might be worth giving my mate rob Barnes a shout, I am sure you could private message him on here. He has just built one of these, along with vbar and maybe able to help you out.

I'm running a vbar on mine and had to dial it down to 12 etc ! Make sure your arms are the right length they are virtually spot on to the manual !

Surely you mean going out on the servo horns Jamie.

If you are only getting 9 degrees each way there is lack of travel.

the head is sitting as low as it can go.

i'm just about to look at it again now but i would think it is a vbar issue and not E7.

i'm using the kit supplied horns aswell FYI.

                  cheers

                    update,

i've looked at this for about 2 hours now and there is no way to get more than 18 degrees using the top hole on the head

what i don't know is if i put it on the middle hole and use longer rods from swash to blade grips if it will make THAT much difference.

built many helis and setup many vbars but at a complete loss here, it is a mechanical issue so i'll need to put the longer links on the head and try again.

                    cheers

I really don't want to insult your intelligence Paul but you have set the pitch sub trims and end points in the V-Bar software havent you.

It's pretty easy to forget but thinking about your problem sounds like a lack of travel in the software obviously taking the problem to the heli.

Sorry if you have done that Paul, just chucking ideas around.

                        hi tim,

yes i have set the end points to 100 either side for all controls. i have reset the vbar and radio gear many times just in case.

i have put the head as per the manual with all linkage lengths as per the manual to the MM and it makes zero difference.

i can't help but think it is a mechanical issue as the servos are moving PLENTY, if i max out my radio (which means the vbar tx menu bars are way over 100% both sides i can get 22 deg but it is not usable due to the elev barely moving as i have too much pitch on-i.e the servos are too far into their travel..

have synergy ever revised any of the parts on the swash etc because i can't see a way to get this fixed short of changing parts out?

                        cheers

Take some pictures of your setup and head and post them up Rob.

Should spot the trouble then surely.??
