Looks Mint Rossco!! I've been holding back on one of these as i have always been a little wary of belts but i know you have always raved about how good the belt system is on the N5 but i may resist the temptation untill the TT kit comes out.
Will it be a new kit or will it be an upgrade?
Thanks in advance mate.Happy Flying! Thanks - Dave

Hi Dave,
The E7 Torque Tube will be available as an Upgrade option for the E7 and also available as a Kit.
I have my E7 in E6 configuration at the moment and i'm loving the belt setup just as much as my N5, very smooth and quiet.
Hope this helps!Thanks!

I would, on this heli prefer a TT but looking at that it is not going to be a cheap upgrade for us who purchased the kit on release
The belt IMO has to be run tight for some reason, or is that just me??
Either way the E7 is great and I would want the TT

The belt does have to be on the tight side but not excessively tight as you can cause the belt to snap if you have it too tight.
Glad to see you like the E7 Ben, i take it you've maidened it now? Thanks!

Yes finally yesterday!!
Not much to say but awesome! Very stable, very solid, flipped on a dime and tracks very well. No trim flight even needed. Measurements must be spot on in the manual. Had to mess with the batts to get the CoG correct and they need to be quite a bit forward (2 x 6s 5000's) The canopy actually sucks big time, trying to get it on and off is a royal pita. Rcbooya mounts a must, it's like the Aurora canopy only worse lol.
All I really need to do is play with the tail gain a bit more then I'm there. Nothing else to do, will just tweak the vbar as time goes by as I see fit.
Running E7 with Kontronik pyro 700-45, kontronik 80hv, edge 693's FBL and I only put these on instead of radix 710 fbl's as going by my logo 600se experience that was very good on 690's, not to poppy or slow - the perfect balance I normally get with radix 710's and it was the same on this so will stick with them for now, edge 105's on tail and 2x 6s 5000.
Really looking forward to getting more flights

Hi Rossco,
How tight is tight?
I have found,if its not very tight i was getting belt slap in the boom?
cheers

[QUOTE=anjki;745647]I usually run mine so that it it tight but without putting too much stress on the transmission system, this can be seen if you spin the rotorhead and if there is too much stress on the autohub the friction will cause the head to probably spin anywhere from half to a full turn. What i generall do is find this point and then slowly back off untill the head spins freely. There will always be extra stresses/friction in a belt system over a TT system due to the nature of the belt but there is a sweet spot where the system is tight yet smooth and this is what you are looking for.Originally posted by ROSSCO View PostThe belt does have to be on the tight side but not excessively tight as you can cause the belt to snap if you have it too tight.

Also, when you are checking the belt tension it is better to check at the rear rather than the front as the front guide pulleys can give a false reading of belt tension and it will seem extremely tight. A method i've seen people use is to have the battery or batteries in the helicopter(for weight), and use your index finger to pressure on the bottom side of the belt. The weight of the helicopter should deflect the belt about half of the distance until contact with the other side of the belt. Since everyone's batteries are different, a better indicator may be the amount of boom remaining past the last tail box boom clamp(assuming you are exactly flush with the front boom clamp. I've measured this distance on my E6 and it is 4mm.
Hope this helps and if you need anything else just give me a shout.
Thanks!
Rossco

thanks Rossco
I have found that to stop the belt slapping inside the boom i have had to run it tighter than you discribe.
A little worrying,as it does seem tighter than i have ran belts on other models.
thanks again

This is a general misconception with belts as they appear to have more resistance under static conditions however the difference in efficiency between a belt and TT is small - approx 98% for TT and 96%+ for a belt.Originally posted by Jamin_00 View PostNo, I can't see a difference either but I know it will be more efficient and will it have more authority also?
Also there is no reason for a TT to have more authority over a belt unless the belt is slipping.Velocity 50 (w/ Rossi R57) | Atom 500 | T Rex 450V2/Sport Hybrid

I thought that was the case, and if so, what are the advantages/disadvantages of TT Vs Belt?Originally posted by bolders View Post
