E7 - mine's arrived

I didn't get much time last night, but I did modify the bearing mount to allow the motor to have full movement within the slots giving about 1mm clearance at the closest position.

Getting there....

So far an excellent build.

The only minor issue I have had so far is a badly threaded pitch link which made it very hard to get the links on. With the JR servo horns I had to mount the carbon arm on the outside, rather than the inside as shown in the manual, which pushes them out slightly but no real problem.

Looking good.

I too got a badly threaded pitch link and can not get them on no matter how hard I tried so I gonna have to give them a call to get one sorted.

They go on a certain amount but just won't go no more so even if they did I would not trust em on there.

Was so gutted it was not gonna fly Sunday so it will have to be this weekend

I am getting some extra links. I beleive this is an issue that is being sorted.

My hi-tech ball reaming tool Spare ball screwed to a piece of scrap metal and roughed up with some pliers - worked very well.

It's Flown

Well I managed to finish it ready for Sunday morning, unfortunately it was rather damp and drizzly so only got 3 short flights in.

First impressions from take off are how smooth and quiet it is A new model and new batteries I didn't push it hard at all, but was soon doing smooth 3D with a bit of height for safety. Fortunate as 3 minutes in the motor cut inverted ! Roll over and land in the long grass - no problem for a belt drive I am not sure why it quit as I wasn't pushing it hard at all. The ESC, motor and batteries wern't warm at all.

I tried a couple more flight taking it easier with no problems for 4minute flights.

Checking over at home I had to tighten the belt a bit. The only other thing I needed to do was add a ~15thou shim to each side of the spindle to tighten the damping up a bit.

I can't wait to get more flying on this now

just seen that you are, are you using the slave wire from the esc, also have you actuvated KSA mode?

After getting the new pitch rod link another link was ****ed!

One that goes in the tail control rod got everything else bang on but apart from bloody links.

I am running both throttle and slave wire from the ESC, RxA and RxB on the mini-Vbar. Also a backup 800mAh pack on RxC. Bec set to 5.6V.

I programmed Mode1 then Mode4 and calibrated the throttle. I was running 60% throttle when it stopped. I increased it to 70% on the next flights, although didn't have a tach so am not too sure what the headspeed is but it should be 2000 @ 60% and 2100 @ 70%

RXA on the mini v-bar does not take power. That is the 3 signal inputs only when using a "normal" receiver.

OK, Thanks. Looks like I need to use a Y-lead into one of the other ports. This is the first time I've used the mini Vbar on satellites.
