My scorpion HK4530 540KV motor and scorpion 130 esc are running hot. I know that scorpions tend to run hot, and I don't know exactly what temperature it is running at cos I haven't got a temperate gun, but I wanted to check that I'm running the appropriate pinion.
Pinion = 12t, main gear is standard 121 teeth.ESC running at 80% which equates to 2200-2300RPM head speed.
The Spektrum telemetry temp gauge reads 50-60degrees but I reckon it's hotter than that cos the temperate sensor is positioned at the bottom of the motor. I can touch the motor for 1 to 2 seconds after medium level 3D flying.
I haven't got much experience with Scorpion motors so I'm wondering if this set-up is fine and if the temperature seems OK?
On the plus I'm getting quite long flight times of 7 minutes semi soft 3D flying.
