So far i am very impressed with the quality of this kit, everything fits well and the finish of components is up there with the best of em!
Hope to finish it tomorrow, and will try to get some initial setup flights on it over the weekend.

will keep you posted as i progress

looks like a winner to me - the simplicity in the servo setup matches the mikado's and it will I sure get some heads turning once in the field.

Nice work there Andy, looks like its coming together nicely. The E7 does build very quickly.

If you have any build questions just give me a shout.
            Thanks!

I'll hopefully see it in the air this morning if Kirby has done his usual and stopped up till 03:00 just to finish it

Really a thing of beauty. Wish I was rich and flew enough to justify the cost of another heli :/

Here it is finished and ready to fly.I will be back shortly with a few build tips and then its off to MK for initial set up flights this afternoon.

                  right then,

to be honest, there isnt much to go wrong when building this kit.The instructions are clear diagrams with occasional build tips added to each section. What is nice is the way all parts are loosely assembled, with all fixings already in position. This means no bags of screws to sort through!
Just make sure tail assembly and head are dismantled and re assembled with locktite and grease.

As you progress through the frame assembly,be sure to follow the manual in order. The tail servo instulation is easier when the 2 frame halfs are apart, but take note that the two lower screws to fix the elevator servo are very hard to get to if the rear platform has been fitted. Not impossible to get to, but definately easier to do first.

Another note,be careful when, sliding the boom in to the front tail boom mounts. It is possible to trap the belt against the rollers, which could damage the belt,so just be a little careful.

The tail rod i found on my kit was a little long (about 10mm) so offer it up first before gluing up,and i also found the controll rods difficult to thread into the links. In the end i used a bolt and hex driver to thread into the links first which helped alot.It did look as though some of these links had a better thread on them than others,so be extra careful with this step, and double check them by giving them a good tug.The links are a tight fit on the balls,so a little reaming needed here to.
The canopy gromets need a little oil for them to slide on the canopy posts, and although the canopy doesnt touch the main gear, it is close.I will keep an eye on this and report back.
The quality of the machined parts in this kit is supurb,i dont think the photos do it justice,it is definately a top end heli, with a simple design which is built to take the strains of 700 flying. The drive train is bullet proof!

This one has been built as a 600,with all my electronics passed over from a logo 600,so it has a lot to live up to!.Set up wise I have gone for 450kv motor, but do think that the supplied pinions of 14 and 15 tooth will be a little big for my style of setup.I have the 14 fitted, with a 2100 ish head speed to start with.

Will see how it goes and do some tweaking this afternoon.

                  Bye for now,off to MK.

BILD0923.jpgBILD0921.jpgBILD0913.jpgBILD0912.jpgBILD0902.jpgBILD0889.jpgHave now had 6 flights on the E6 .I started with a 2100 head speed on 625mm blades, but quickly found this model prefers a little more headspeed than this.I finished up at 2200, it just felt better and could probably take a little more, but wanted to keep flight times reasonable.I am using flightpower 3300 6s packs to make 12s.At this headspeed a comfortable 4 1/2 mins of 3d is very safe.My ready to fly weight was 9 1/2 pounds.

Be careful with your tail belt tension,it needs to be on the tight side,i was getting belt slap in the boom at first, untill i re-tensioned.Also i had positioned the pinion so the bottom face was resting on the bottom pinion bearing block.I quickly realised that the upper part of the pinion is stepped with a shoulder. In flight the main gear was riding upwards rubbing on this shoulder.A quick re-position upwards of the pinion now gives me a very quite drivetrain.Main gear to pinion mesh was set with a very small amount of backlash.
I came home well chuffed,6 successful flights, each one better than the last.
I will be fine tuning it over the next couple of weeks to my taste and dont think it will take me long to feel fully at home with it.
So far,it feels solid in the air with lots of presence, rolls are VERY axial, and it feels balanced in all areas of flight.
I couldn't be happier, and look forward to the E7,which i have a feeling will be even better!

                        cheers

                          i really like this heli!!!
Just a quick question if the tail servo broke do you have to take the frames apart to replace it?

There is loads of room in the frames and if the servo requires removal then it is easy to do so by just removing the four bolts that secure the servo to the mounts or alternatively the four bolts that secure the servo mounts to the frame.
                            Thanks!
