  • N5c head nod

    Hey guys.
I have recently rebuilt the above with a vortex vx1n. The machine lifts of clean but there is a slide head nod which persists in forward flight.

I would appreciate some opinions as I have run out of ideas

The obvious thing would be something still bent or off balance.

One easy thing to try is pulling the swash gain down a bit.

Did you have a VX1N on it before you rebuilt it?

Another thing I suspect of causing a nod sometimes is if the servos are not fast enough (or possibly something else in the servo geometry in some cases) I think one of my helis suffers from a lack of servo speed but it only happens in a hover at quite a low headspeed.

Mike did you perform a 'Trim Flight' on the VX1n following the rebuild as well?

There was a mod for the N5 head where an extra washer/spacer was added to prevent the feathering bolt tightening the thrust bearings to much.
