  • 380kse brain 2 bt settings

    Hi
    have a 380KSE that I have fitted a brain 2 Bluetooth unit.
can anyone help me with the settings in the unit please?
    1) what blade size do I put in. there is no 3 blade setting
    2) I want to use the governor. The motor is a Xnova 2890 890 10p with the standard pinion.
    is asking for :
    main gear ratio
    tail gear ratio
    sensing divisor
    speed 1
    speed 2
    speed 3
    Gain%
My hobbywing ESC has an RPM sensor which when connected starts the magnet detected off/on switch to flicker.

I am at the moment not doing any aerobatics
any help with any of the above would be great
    Thank you

Hi Pete. If you reconnect the unit to your pc with an Internet connection there was an update released on Tuesday that now includes the 3blade setting. Then 325-380 I guess wouebe your blade size ;)
Both the main and tail gear ratios have calculators to help you,
For main, enter your motor pinion teeth (my case this is 23) + the main gear tooth count is 120
For tail, enter rear tail pulley size (my case, 2blade this is 21) and the front tail gear is 72t. If you're not 100% on your pulley size just count the teeth and write it on the pulley with marker for future reference!
Sensing divisor is the number of motor poles divided by 2, the 890kv xnova is a 10pole motor so sensing divisor = 5
Headspeed should be set as desired, my 2 blade is at 3000, 3150 and 3300. And leave the gov gain at default of 50 until you have flown it
Unfortunately I dont fly hobbywing escs so im unsure of exactly how your endpoints will be set, hopefully someone that does can run you through this

Note that the G380 KSE has a 20T tail pulley (faster) and a 21T motor pinion as standard, but worth checking what is actually fitted if you didn't build it yourself.

          Hi
          Thanks to all the posts
          1) are the rpms quoted likely to be similar on the 3 blade head?
          2) while I get some stick time with the new setup where should I set the cyclic gain and agility

          Thanks again

Slightly lower rpm with the 3-blade head i.e. -200 rpm appears close. There are some guidelines in the SAB manual. The standard pinion on that motor is good for around 3200 rpm max with the HW governor. That's what I run on mine and it has plenty of power. I often turn it down to around 3000 rpm for more relaxed flying and it's still quite capable of smooth 3D at that speed.
