  • G500 Full Size Servos?

    Guys,

I’m thinking of replacing my Align cyclic mini servos with full size servos and Canopy.

Anyone here running full size servos with full size canopy?

Did you have to replace the motor pinion due to the full size motor belt, also how well does the full size canopy fit?

I'm interested to know if the extra servo torq and speed made a big improvement when it comes to doing hard stops?

I like using full size , I just hack the normal canopy to suit , I`m sure I first used the standard belt , but now use the longer belt I think

I've got the full-size canopy, because it fits over the BK servos more easily.

It fits well over these [BK] servos.

You may be better off looking at the BK servos, anyway ?
      Yes, it's th@ tw@ Scallyb@...

        Thanks for the response guys.

I'm thinking of going full size rather then the BK mini servo route, I've had the G500 since it was out and now looking to see if I can improve it's performance to do a bit of smack. I was thinking if I go full size and not happy I could always go buy a 570 and use the servos in them. Where as if I get the BK's if I'm not happy I'll be stuck with them.

Ady, how do the DS610 feel..Can they keep up with your flying style? :)

hello there , i crank up the voltage n they are jolly awesome , feel great :) i did have a kit with the full BK servo combo , once they hit the deck , they were all bust , the aligns seem to hold better , although they will strip gears on a highspeed impact , but then again won`t they all , the best thing is tho, i just plod along picking up 610 servo sets at mega cheap prices as people head off on the HV route , you can`t go far wrong with the 610 , i have tried extremly hard to get them to blow or fail in the air , but i can`t , hense why i use them :) i must rebuild it again :) good luck

Cheers Ady, I've been looking at the DS615 as I don't want to change my tail servo and run higher than 6.0v. Are you running it over 6.0v?

i also use the 615 when i break the 610`s , a very capable n avaliable servo . i run mine at 7.2v , the voltage does sit around 6.8v during the flight .please bare in mind , i don`t worry about burning them out or melting them cos i have run the higher voltage for quite some time , and only ever break them when they hit the deck at 1000 mph :) so its a personnal thing , some people cringe when its mentioned , i dont , bung some in and thrash it :)
