  • Tips for Cautro Gasser

I'm looking at converting a stock Cautro to a camship and I want to convert it too a gasser too.

Has anyone got any idea's on the best engine, conversion kit, etc etc.

I want to see what the total costs are before breaking my bank account in two.
    Cheers

hansen motor seems to be the way to go for power and smoothness. We do a conversion kit too,

it is a zenoah motor, its a Hansen Modified zenoah motor.

I am not sure who stocks it. I am pretty sure century predators come with the hansen now tho, might worth asking them?

The plan is to use the Cautro gasser conversion kit with the Zenoah G-260PUH from Hanson direct from the US, I've a price from hanson on this @ $425.00 plus P&P

I've CADCAM designed the mount using 4mm Carbonfiber plates and load of parts from Carbonextreme.

One thing I have found hard to find is a Cautro online .pdf manual, I'll sort this out as soon as the kit arrives. I bought it off the BMFA site with a load of bits I don't need like a C-Spec so if anyones looking for a near new C-Spec with gold head (Not a pump version)let me know.

Yet to sort the muffler. 80cm Semi-Symmetrical blades.

                Once completed I'll upload pictures.
                Cheers

Christ it seems like ages since I started this project to turn this heli from a std heli into a gasser AP ship.

Well at long last I now have my G231 Hanson engine and my camera mount courtesy of Angelos who's been working a new design so we've combine our efforts and resources and now at long last I'll be able to start to this baby moving along.

I'll post some pics as soon as I can, in the middle of getting my duck's in a row for a new press that's due in on the 1st, so things are manic at work.
                    Cheers

Okay.....atlast the heli has been built and the engine run, but not yet flown. Couldn't get to the field but was keen to see how easy or hard the engine was going to be to get started. So I wnet and started it up in the back garden.

Surprisingly, its started after a few turns and on idle and spooling up seems okay, however, I want to move the throttle servo forward as I can see it twitching I suspect its because its sit right next to the plug, and further forward may help.

I've got some 800 V blades on it and 105 V tail blades with a Hanson Modified G231 Zenoah engine, using a Zimmerman Gasser pipe, sounds nice too.

                      Will upload some pics tomorrow.
                      Cheers
