Here's my project for 2008 to rebuild and refurbish this Schluter miniboy.... a friend of mine found this for sale at Wings and Wheels yesterday, this was one of the first type of heli's i flew in 1985.......
I wish I never got rid of my old Schluter Helistar I had in about 95/96 it was a big heavy thing but would like to have had a laugh and got it flying with the gear we have today as I remember it flew like a slug way back when..
Good luck with the project m8! look forward to seeing its all nice n shiney again
Trex 600n - Yeah bring it on!!!!
Hyper 50 engine
Align GP750 Gyro w/9254
Futaba FF7 Tx 2.4 jobby now
Flying since May 2006. Crashes so far: 2 and the 2nd was a fatal one!
I recently got a friends very old heli flying, one that he bought in 1982. It was an MFA Sport 500 with an MDS .40. I saw it take off and land within seconds on several occasions, but we got it flying a couple of weeks ago.
It was fixed pitch and similar in layout to yours, pity the main bevel gear couldn't take the load and stripped after four tankfuls. I'll post some piccies when I get chance!
regards
Pip
Hey, where d'you learn to fly? I saw you shoot your rocket
up.............. into the sky.
Hey, I heard you set the pace, I never thought I'd see you back................ in this old place!
Looks like an interesting project! I rebuilt an old MFA 500 last year and got it airborne powered by a cheap MDS 48. It was a great achievement to get an old heap airworthy again. I flogged it in the end as it was a right pain in the rear end to start and something always needed repairing/replacing on the sucker. Still that miniboy looks cool and should give you some fun airtime once youve finished tinkering with it.
it's something to do when the weather is bad, i'm upgrading the engine to a TT50 plus all new electric's,2.4ghz and a JR 770 gyro hopefully it should fly sweet.......
